Week In Review

Fishing was super this week, and thankfully the wind subsided. The highlight of the week was young Wilkes H, who caught a beautiful 20 lb. Permit on the fly with Capt. Cesar. He is the youngest angler to have landed a Permit on the fly at El Pescador. He and his family also qualified as open water scuba divers.

What Guests were Catching

Bonefish

Good numbers of bones were caught. Some big schools seen, and most were in the 2-3 Lbs range.

Permit

Nine Permit were caught between 5 - 20 Lbs.

Tarpon

Seven Tarpon were taken. They ranged between 3 and 30 lbs.

Other Species

A few Snapper were caught, and Barracuda were also plentiful. Several big Jacks were caught.

Grand Slams

No Grand Slam was recorded

Flies That Worked

Bonefish:
Christmas Island Specials in gold, pearl and pink sizes 4 & 6, and Crazy Charlies in pink and orange.
Permit:
Mantis shrimp and Flexo and grand slam crabs.
Tarpon
White toads and black/purple toads. White toads remain the fly of choice.
