We landed over 20 permit in the 6 to 12 lb range in each of the past two weeks. Not to be outdone, we also had four anglers who landed in excess of 20 jacks; the largest was close to 25 lbs and the smallest was at least 12 lbs and all on tarpon flies.
The bonefishing was very fine, with plenty of tailing bones in skinny 'technical' water as well as the deeper flats (2 - 3 ft deep).
The tarpon fishing was steady with one or two tarpon landed each day, and numerous tarpon “jumped” but not landed. The largest tarpon were in excess of 100 lbs with the remainder in the 40 to 60 lb class.
Come on down, the fishing is heating up for the summer and remember, our temperature in Belize only varies about 8 or 9 degrees year round.
