April 16 – 30th, 2008 Fishing Report

Conditions

Reporting Dates:April 15 - 30, 2008
Weather:Excellent with clear skies
Air Temps:
Water:Water has been in the low 80s

The past two weeks have been 'chamber of commerce' conditions and the fishing reflected it. George M was here for his annual pilgrimage and had 5 tarpon on in the 100+lb class his first two days, brought 3 to the boat. His friend Wayne K. landed his very first tarpon, a bit over 80 lbs.

We had another ESPN crew here shooting, and the guest of the show James S. from Tuscaloosa, who had never used a flyrod, caught several 4 - 5 lb bones his very first day out. He also landed a small tarpon around 30 pounds.

Todd and Erin G. visited us for the first time and both caught their first bones, and Todd landed a nice 12 lb permit his last day on the water.

Mark W had three permit on three days in a row. His buddy Steve H may not have had a permit, but caught his first tarpon (around 50 lbs) and landed a huge jack (20-25 lbs); and both did well on tailing bones.

The conditions are great!
