After the holidays things usually slow down a bit...this year was an exception. Plenty of calm weather has yielded bones, tarpon and many permit. The Undlin family was here courtesy of Yellowdog Flyfishing and the Cleveland Browns. They'll be back next year, after the browns make the playoffs, to catch more fish. The Neu family courtesy of Frontiers caught some huge barracuda, played volleyball, went snorkeling as steve, sandy and son, nick, used every day for a new adventure. Jack Burke's wife, Judith, caught her first bonefish and brought many evenings of enlightened conversation.
Schmidt Outfitters sent Dan Sawyer and 11 other veterinarians here for fishing and 3 hours of medical meeting each day after fishing!!! Don Sawyer, leader of the crew and repeat guest caught his first permit after 10 years of trying...congrats Don, your perseverance paid off! Several members of the crew also landed their first bones, tarpon and permit...one day there were 6 permit in their boats and one boat had a 'boat grand slam'.
Just a footnote: this month during the full moon week we had three very legitimate grand slams...see a new 'tips from the fishing host' on the fishing page of this site for a bit more insight.
In addition to lots of fishing El Pescador hosted a group of 40 international women who belong to a group named "tara'...adventures of the mind"...who frolicked, studied, networked, made contributions to the children of San Pedro and much more.
